The UKSAC has hosted researching students from various UK colleges including Physical Therapy, Nursing, Public Health, and others. Such collaboration is always welcome, so email uksaclinic@gmail.com if you have ideas.
Foremost among our ongoing projects is a triage program that collects demographic data from our patients immediately before they are seen at clinic. We are looking for several volunteers to collect this data for 30-60 minutes, once every few weeks. If interested, contact us as above.
Physicians: volunteer!
Volunteer physicians are desperately needed and appreciated at the UKSAC. To sign up, check the Physician Schedule below, find a spot labeled "Need Attending", and email uksac.physician.scheduler@gmail.com to request that spot. You should be added to the list and receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. You may arrive at the UKSAC at 6:00pm and should finish around 9:00.
Email uksac.physician.scheduler@gmail.com to volunteer.
Medical student volunteers
Student volunteers began the UKSAC, and we need more to keep it going. To sign up, check the Student Schedule below, pick a spot that is labeled "Needed," and email uksac.student.scheduler@gmail.com to claim that spot. There are two basic jobs for medical students at the clinic. The floor manager (FM) coordinates all others at the clinic, runs labs, gets medications, and makes social service referrals. The other student volunteers are all interviewers (M1, M2, etc) who see the patients directly and present their findings to the attending physician. More detailed information on each position can be found in the Documents sidebar to the right.
FM=floor manager, IM = Internal Medicine rotation (3rd year), M1/M2=interviewer.
